3 Swim Team Things
Hi Dolphin Families,
Please take a moment to read the 3 things below in advance of this week. If you have any questions please reach out.
1. VOLUNTEERS
Participation in a summer swim program requires a level of parental support unparalleled in other sports. The successful operation of a swim meet requires MANY volunteers at every swim meet! Please remember that every family is required to volunteer for at least 4 assignments. Volunteer sign-ups for the season are found on Swimtopia. Details about the positions can be found on the ML Dolphin website.
Another way to help out the team is to serve in a coordinator position. We have three of these positions to fill this year. If you are interested in being the Volunteer Coordinator, Bullpen Coordinator, or Awards Coordinator please reach out to [email protected] for more information.
2. COMPUTER OPERATOR
The team is in DESPERATE need of 2 computer operators. The team was fortunate to have the Shipley's fill this role for many years, but now that their children have grown up and moved on the position has yet to be filled and the responsibility is falling on our Head Coach Rachel. This position requires arriving at the meet 1 hour before to print heat sheets, then during the meet run the computer program by manually keying in swimmer times as well as printing labels for ribbons. All equipment is provided and training is available. During the meet, the computer operators CAN watch their swimmer swim. Please reach out directly to Margaret ([email protected]) if you are interested in learning more about this position!
3. T-SHIRTS
For families that registered before May 1st t-shirts will be available for pick up at both morning and evening practices this week. There are a few t-shirts that will also be available for purchase for $10 at the meet on Thursday evening.
As always, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to reach out.
Lisa Stamey, Riikka Harkonen, Margaret Gunter, and Katie McCrainie
